ingredients

  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • Frosting
  • 1 ¼ cups Confectioners' sugar
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, Temptee
  • ½ cup Heavy cream

directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease the insides of two 8-inch round cake pans.
3. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.
4. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
5. Add the eggs to the butter-and-sugar mixture one at a time, stirring continuously.
6. Add the milk and vanilla to the mixture.
7. Using a mixer, combine the wet and dry ingredients.
8. Mix until smooth, approximately one minute.
9. Pour the mixture into the pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
10. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
11. Allow the cake to cool, then top with frosting and cherries, if desired.
